Beautiful traditional-style accomodation close to restaurants, bars and the market, but on a very quiet street. The hotel is decorated exquisitely — you enter into a stone passage way and the rooms are connected by pathways shaded with bamboo. Our room had Japanese fold-out screen in the entrance and an outdoor tub that was very refreshing. Special mention should go to the hostess/owner Tada. She was kind, accomodating and flexible and made us feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone travelling to Kyoto.

Our stay at the Temple Hotel was so much more than we hoped for. Our hosts were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. The experiences on offer gave us an insight into Buddhism, temple life, traditional food, and culture. Everything was of the highest quality and thoughtfully provided. It was easy to catch the train there, and Ayabe is a delightful place after the busyness of Kyoto. We would definitely recommend staying here, and hopefully, we can visit again one day.

My family's first trip to Japan and our first ryokan experience. This not a business hotel with all the associated business amenities. It's more like visiting friends or family. The owner and his family operate this ryokan. It seems to be a very genuine experience. A performance by one of Kyotos maikos was an exceptional cultural immersion. It was an enjoyable stay and a great base-location in Gion for exploring Kyoto. Enthusiastically recommend.

Hotel is extremely close to the Kyoto Station and that's why I chose to stay here in the first place. If you wan't to make day trips to various destinations, this is a good hotel. Room was comfy and clean, nothing particular to write home about. Hotel staff was very polite and took care of our baggages while we were checking in and out. Met my expectations. great place to stay if you are in Kyoto and want a place close to the station.

Hotel is located two blocks north of the Gion District. it's away from the hustle and bustle of Gion and Pontocho in a quiet neighbourhood. Check in was fast, rooms clean and big. Hotel also has washing machines and dryers on premises. The famous temple Heian Jinyu is an 8 min walk away, as is the Kyoto City Zoo. 18 min away is the Nanzen Ji Temple. These places are less crowded and yet very beautiful.

Huge room, especially for Japanese standards. Comfy bed and nice toiletries. Perfect hosting by its kind manager, who makes you feel really welcome. They even prepared a special surprise for my fiancées birthday, which made our stay even better! I'd definitely recommend Hotel Muso if you're staying in Kyoto, location is perfect too. Calm road but close enough to anywhere you'd want to go.

Location of the hotel was very good, near the crosswalk of the West Hachioji JR Kyoto exit. The room was a bit snug but very clean. The hotel had an onsen bath with liberal usage hours. The staff was quite helpful when needed. A bus stop was right in front of the hotel or another across the street. It is convenient to walk to Don Quijote or the Aeon Mall. The showers are nice, Japan style wet room.

The host was very welcoming and gave us a great introduction to Kyoto and the local area and sites to visit. We loved how quiet the area was and very close to the station which allowed easy access to sites of Kyoto. It was very close to shops/supermarket. We loved getting a small insight into how people live traditionally in Japan. The beds were very comfortable and we slept really well. Thank you

Excellent location. Bus stop at 50 metres distance. Well connected to Kyoto station and some attractions by bus. Walkable distance from Nijo castle. Convenience stores and supermarkets are very close by. Hotel staff was very helpful. Hotel rooms were very clean. Amenities corner was well stocked. Washer and dryer in the room was very handy. Kitchenette in the room added to the convenience.

Close to points of interest in Kyoto, Gion, Hirashiyama, temples, river, restaurants, shopping, Nishiki market, etc. Bus and subway lines easy access. First rate and clean facility even by Japanese standard, including the onsen. Rooftop view, foot bath, well stocked fridge wjrb drinks, excellent staff (some English speaking), treated well. Kind of a boutique hotel.

Using the Japanese bathroom dryer was a experience. Great to see how Japanese compact everything into a small apartment to get you everything you need. It is also close to the Kyoto Station, Gion District, Nijo Castle, also udon noddle spot across the street from the corner of the hotel, and other Kyoto attraction/tourist spot is very close by too.

Breakfast was excellent! We love the many choices for Japanese and Western food. The twin room was a good size, good size bathroom with bath and shower, and separate toilet. Very clean hotel and the service by staff was fantastic. Hotel Vischio Kyoto is so close to Kyoto Station. The walk to the station is less than 5 minutes. Highly recommended hotel!

The stay was AMAZING. So very comfortable. Just like other reviews mentioned, the hosts do a great job of making you feel a true Japanese experience! The care that went into explaining any questions I might have had about Kyoto/Japan was amazing. The effort put into breakfast was AMAZING. They made me feel like family. I will definitely be back.

Thank you so much for the nice stay. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. All the space was clean and furnished really well. Hotel is near train station and bus stop. We can honestly recommend Minn Gion and I’m sure we will reserve room the next time in Kyoto.

The room was bigger than most Japanese hotels. It had 2 bed rooms and for the price, you couldn't beat it! Very clean and very roomy. The location is very quiet and takes a bit to get to popular places but that's what made the adventure through Kyoto awesome! Highly recommend!

The room is quite specious compared to other hotels in Japan. I like the public hot pool the hotel provides. The location is good. It is close to Aeon Shopping Mall, and can walk to Kyoto station and Todaiji Temple. If I have a chance to be in Kyoto, I will stay at the hotel again.

Probably the Best location if you are on a budget trip to Kyoto, the Hostel is close to Kyoto JR station and Yodobashi camera mall, Keep your expectations low, bec this is a Hostel. Bonus: there is a bus stop for Bus 206 near the hostel that brings you near Kiyomizudera temple

Generous and delicious breakfast, comfortable room (bigger than typical Japanese hotel room I used to stay in Tokyo), free locker is provided before checkin and after checkout. The hotel is in a walking distance to and from Kyoto station and malls / convenient stores around.

We had a pleasant stay at the Saju Kyoto Hotel! We were welcomed with Matcha tea and delicious cookies. In general, the people were so nice and welcoming. We loved the more „traditional“ experience and had actually a good sleep there! We would definitely come again.

Good location near Kyoto JR and bus station. You can walk to hotel or can take bus if you do not wish to walk, it is just a stop to reach. Hotel provides welcome Ice cream in the day and at night welcome snacks and beers, juices, sake throughout your stays.
