The location is great, decor lovely. The staff were kind and helpful. I would stay here again. The gardens are like a calm oasis and the pool refreshing. We loved it. Beds comfortable, air con working, good shower pressure and a fridge in every room.

* The location was great!
* The beds were amazing!
* The WiFi was great.
* It was a nice change to get some TV in English (other than news and sport!) So we enjoyed a movie on our first night.
* It was great having a laundry, although it would be helpful if they sold individual detergent portions as we ended up having to buy a whole bottle for just one wash. We don't generally travel with laundry detergent.

At the centre of the Mayan Riveria is Playa del Carmen, a playground for hip Europeans and toned-and-tanned Americans. This resort town showcases the renowned white-sand beaches of the Caribbean Coast along the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Playa del Carmen's powdery white sands are nestled between Cancun to its north, Tulum in the south and the island of Cozumel, 20 km east with its fantastic diving in the nearby Great Maya Reef. Awake from an afternoon nap to take a dip, go snorkelling or deep-sea fishing in the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Playa is an easy choice as a holiday destination with its range of hotels, many first-class restaurants and beachside nightclubs. Quinta Avienda, also known as 5th Avenue, is the main tourist hub and shopping district. For a more authentic Mexico experience, venture outside of the centre to a local cenote (sinkhole) or Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Cruise ships dock in nearby Cozumel and traffic people to the mainland arriving at the Playa del Carmen Maritime Terminal. If the glimmering Caribbean waters are full, then Booking.com has a huge number of hotels with an outdoor swimming pool by the beach.
Wonderful people and wonderful activities. Dress appropriately for intense sun and be aware that most protected natural areas (reefs, cenotes, etc) do not allow chemical sunscreen or bugspray. Would recommend spacing out activity days and relaxation days so you don't overexhaust but get the best experience.

We felt very safe there.
We felt very safe there. The locals were wonderful and the food everywhere we went was amazing! We of course only used bottled water and the restaurants always offered still or sparkling water. We loved the laid back atmosphere so much in Playa del Carmen that we bought a condo!

50 minute airport ride in the cramped 10 pax van was not a great way to start and end the trip. Note - We booked a private a 16pax bus (there's even a picture of a beautiful mid sized bus) for our party of 10 but no one cared. There's a company in-between booking.com and the company that actually provides the transportation. They all use the same 10 pax vans (they're everywhere) and all blame each other for the confusion. Only thing they offered to do was use 2 of those vans but said we'd have to wait a long time for the second van. Crappy way to start and end the trip and a waste of money. Stay closer to the airport.

Playa Del Carmen is a beautiful, upbeat town!
Playa Del Carmen is a beautiful, upbeat town! I always think of it as a much better version of the Las Vegas strip- minus the casinos. There is so much to do, the water is breathtakingly beautiful, the food is great, and you can easily get around by bike! The ADO bus has routes to Cancun and Tulum and is very affordable! There are several beach clubs in the area and fun bars! I have travelled solo and always felt very safe! My favorite juice bar is Restaurante Nativo! Their fresh squeezed juice prices are unbeatable and always refreshing! I usually visit them several times throughout my trips there! Get out and enjoy everything the town has to offer. Taxis are fairly cheap as well! I stayed off of 38th and 10th about two blocks from Quinta Avenida and it was nice and quiet but still close to the action! Ian with Playa Bike Rentals was great for renting a bike. He dropped it off to me and his price for the week was excellent! No hidden fees or huge deposits! Harry’s is great for a late night cocktail as well! Also, Mahekal Hotel is private but does offer day passes to access their facilities! I highly recommend for the beautiful private beach if you want great cocktails and a beautiful laid back beach day!

I went there to see a dentist.
I went there to see a dentist. The cost to fly there and stay for week plus the dental visit was less than my cost do it here at home. So, I was there for a week.
The beaches are beautiful and the sun is strong! PDC has a busy shopping district that you have to see. 5th Ave is about 2 miles of shops and restaurants and other services like massages and pharmacies. Lots of junk and somewhat aggressive shopkeepers trying to get you into their store.
The roads that run parallel to 5th are also full of shops and restaurants, but at a much quieter pace. 1st and 10th Ave are a welcome relief from the hustles on 5th.
Be aware of scammers on 5th saying "remember me from the hotel" also you will be offered weed and cocaine many times a day when you walk up and down 5th Ave. You will get used to saying "no thank you" and just keep saying it.
PDC is safe, just keep you're head on straight and don't get too drunk while you're there. And make smart decisions.
PDC is a 3 hour bus ride to Chichen Itza and that is the must see of any trip the region.

My recent stay at Caribbean Paradise Hotel in Playa del Carmen was truly unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional service, prime location, inviting atmosphere, and unparalleled comfort.
First and foremost, I must commend the staff for their outstanding assistance during the check-in process. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly helpful, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience. Their warm welcome set the tone for the rest of my stay, and their attentiveness to my needs throughout made me feel like a valued guest.
I love the ambiance of the hotel itself. The staff was amazing! Specially Celine and tatiana at the reception. They were both very friendly and accommodating. They made sure our stay was smooth. They also offer pastries which is really good for breakfast. Other than that the lady who cleans our room is also amazing. I didn’t get to ask her name but her hairstyle give it all with her curls on the side of her ears hehe . If i was to go back in playa del carmen i would book it at Balkón boutique again. Thank you!
This hotel has an excellent location, one street far from the Fifth avenue which is the main street in town, 3 streets far from the ADO stop (Playa del Carmen Alterna). Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops close by however, the rooms insulation is so good that we didn't get disturbed by the hectic weekend night life. There is a 7 Eleven and a fantastic place for breakfast at the corner.
The room was very big and comfortable. Excellent and quiet aircon. Good WiFi.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
I loved the location!!! Close to restaurants, shops, bars, and clubs. walking distance to catch the ferries as well. The inn is right on the beach, which was cleaned daily. The affiliated resurant was a great touch. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food was good and drinks. We had the oceanview room. Very clean and spacious. The beds/pillows were comfortable. He showe water pressure was and hot. The wifi was good, just make sure you reconnect when you return to your room/hotel.
We loved our stay at Riviera Maya Suits. Central and right on the action of la quinta avenida! A 5 minutes walk to mamitas beach. We’ll be back ! Maria, our housekeeper is the sweetest and very professional ! Jose the grouds keeper is very friendly, Arturo, was our driver to and from the airport very kind and also very professional, our front desk person ( sorry, I think his name is Jorge) very nice and friendly ! Love Playa del carmen ! Forget all inclusive hotels ! Stay here !
Thank you !
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is at the heart of Playa del Carmen without being in the middle of the party scene. In just 5 minutes you can easily reach the night life area but you won’t be disturbed at night when the crowds get rowdy (our room was in the back of the hotel).
The breakfast was good and the poolside service was ok. Overall the hotel is clean and feels safe. The room was generally comfortable, but it looks much better in the photos. It is a very basic room.
People were really kind and attentive. Location is great! I don't mind the entrance being directly on the beach because personnel helped me carry my bags and because being there also means the hotel gets some beach front. It is walking distance from the ADO bus station, which means you can easily move by bus to other places. Plus it is close the 5th av. and all its buzz. People who are not staying in the hotel can pay for a lounge chair, food and access to the pool and showers only for one day.
Overall good stay, facilities are new and very clean. Pretty sure it's the best value for money in Playa. We had a room on the 5th floor so we had almost a private sun deck, which was amazing since our toddler could play around there.
Great location, bit further away from all the tourist buzz. Nice restaurant below (not belonging to hotel). Clean and new. Just comfortable, not luxury.
nice, clean and well-maintained property. When I spend an overnight stay in Playa del Carmen while in transit from Cancun to Cozumel, I try to find a low-priced hotel near the ADO terminal and Ferry. Sometimes these types of accommodations are very "Basic" This hotel met my requirements and exceeded my expectations for comfort and value for money
The last visit I made to Playa Del Carmen my hotel was noisy at night due to being near a club with booming music. My stay here at Quinta Santa Anita this was not the case, it was very quiet which I really appreciated and enjoyed. A highlight of my stay.
Close to excellent food! Away from the busy and crowded areas of PDC.
The hotel was fine, It's not a fancy hotel but It have all that you need to stay one o two nigth. The room was very clean and the employees were very friendly. I think It's a good place if you are going to playa del Carmen for business or travel alone, so it is not a good idea to go with children.
location is great, staff is amazing, there is always something going on! it’s the best place to meet people! the rooftop bar has something going on every night, even after I checked out I continued to go there to have cheap drinks and meet new people! highly recommend if you’re a solo traveller!
Staff great. Facilities in room great ie plug points, usb's, iron, hairdryer you dont have to keep your thumb on to work👍👍👍👍 Generally liked the hotel. Had bad weather for my stay but pool looked good too. And seemed like they tried their best with entertainment despite the weather.
Love this hotel! This was our third visit and better than ever. Our first two visits were during Covid and the hotel remodel. The new beach club and restaurants are amazing. Service excellent. There was not one strand of seaweed on the beach. Fantastic stay.
if you visit Playa del Carmen don’t miss this unique place. A small well decorated hotel in the best area, the rooms are new and big and there is a nice balcony. We also enjoyed the pool at the roof. The host was amazing. we will come back for sure (:
The rooftop pool was nice. The hotel is not located on the beach, but they have shuttles running to the other Reef hotels located on the beach where you have access. All inclusive is definitely the way to go. The staff were very friendly.
This is one of the best place ever in Playa del Carmen ! the personal of the hotel is so nice and really professional, the rooms are so nice and very clean . The best service ever , very well located with a private beach club The Lido.
The facilities were very clean. The attention was excellent and the hotel is in one of the best locations in Playa del Carmen. We stayed there again a week later. I highly recommended it.
Prime location - in the center of Playa with all the shops/restaurants/taxis and right on the beach. Private and quiet compared to other hotels/ resorts
