I was there as a part of a bodyboarding group attending a two-day session at Waco Surf. The activity was great, and the barbecue dinner we had at Rudy's in Waco was also outstanding. Otherwise, I spent no time in Waco itself.

It was cold and wet. We were tired, hungry, and hadn't planned the stay. The first accommodation we stopped at was so pleasant and helpful, but they had no rooms. It was surrounded by eateries. The sweet cheerful lady helped us find another place to stay. Everyone else we met seemed as blase as we were. Must have been the weather. Maybe it was hunger. We started our day with a couple hours at the Cameron Park Zoo and ended with a tour of the Dr. Pepper Museum. Both were great values for our budget and also very interesting. Very interesting place with much to see. The Dr Pepper and the Texas Ranger museums were really interesting. Of course the Magnolia area was great also. Taking a tour of the city gives you loads of information. Very enjoyable.
