Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!
One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to its most iconic building, the Space Needle. Standing proudly at 184 metres, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 150 metres and was featured on numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle".
The Needle stands not far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also a place where Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971, and today you can enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store!
Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!
Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from the centre of the city and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com offers a great choice for your Seattle trip.
Seattle and the Puget Sound area are absolutely beautiful...
Seattle and the Puget Sound area are absolutely beautiful with many things to see and do. It’s fun to ride the ferry over to Bainbridge Island for some unique shopping and then go further West to the quaint Scandinavian city of Poulsbo for more interesting shopping and dining.
The only down side to the Seattle area is the traffic. Since routes are geographically limited, if the main arteries get clogged, you have to pack your patience and sit through the aggravating traffic snarls.

Seattle is a big and bustling city with good public transport and a beautiful boardwalk. I loved visiting MOPOP (the Museum of Popular Culture) and the Pike Street Market. The international district seemed pretty cool too, and there were a lot of gigs and shows that were on when I was there.
There seem to be a lot of parks and walks to do.
However there were some places where I didn't feel safe wandering alone, and the city is very dirty. It was also a little expensive, I found.

A great city to visit.
A great city to visit. Really easy to get around using rail, buses and plenty of walking.
Lots to see and do.
Just be careful walking around at night as with many cities a lot of homeless and drug crime on the streets. A lot of police and security present in the main areas which helps make you feel safe. Use taxis to get around at night, fairly cheap.
Would recommend to visit.

Those of us who live in my part of Canada are lucky to have easy access to, what most of us consider, one of the nicest, safest and most under rated cities in the USA.
There is so much to like about this city- most of all it's cleanliness, safety, sanity and the people.

The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking.
The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking. My plane arrived at 5 pm and the airport was pretty much deserted. I found the signage confusing, walked around and around trying to find the train to go into the city but just couldn’t find it and nobody seemed to know where it was, plus a friend who lives in Seattle advised me not to take that train as there had been several standings in the previous couple of weeks, so I then looked for the Uber pick up spot. Found it after walking around for about 30 minutes, again no clear signage and then proceeded to pay $76 U.S. to get to my downtown hotel. The next morning I was taking a train up to Vancouver and had to take a cab about 4 blocks. The driver had quoted me $20 for the short trip and I refused. Finally settled on $15 but when we reached the station and I gave him a $20 bill, he conveniently had no change. Not sure what the fare would have been if he’d turned the meter on but he said something was wrong with it. Easy cash right from me into his pocket.😡

We did a few of the tourist spots, specifically Pike Place Market and the Chihuly art gallery and garden, and both locations were easy to get to and very nice. The market is huge! We also visited the international district, and would recommend it to anyone who loves authentic asian cuisine. I would recommend you stay downhill of the freeway overpass; once we walked uphill past the overpass, the area got more rundown and seedy. We did not use the public transit but there was plenty available. The downtown area is pretty clean for a city, with a lot of food options. Our splurge dinner was at Sushi Kashiba, and if you're a sushi lover and have it in the budget to do the omakase experience, I would highly recommend it! Biscuit Bitch was an awesome breakfast spot and I would also recommend grabbing a sandwich from there! If you have the time, I would also recommend renting a car and leaving the city for either the Cascade Mountains or Olympic National Park; if you're not from the northwestern US the views and nature are stunning and unlike anywhere else.
One of the best priced hotels in downtown with seriously the the best facilities. I had an alimony in seattle and decided to make it a relaxing getaway as well so the facilities were a big deal. Didn’t disappoint with MULTIPLE pools, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and even a plunge pool at no extra cost. The workout facilities were excellent, The rooms were more than well equipped with a full size fridge/freezer, stove, oven and a large deck for hanging.
The double room was very clean and comfortable. It was in a great location, convienent to some restaurants, coffee shops and also included a Starbucks next store with access through the lobby. The parking was easy to access and the hotel wasn't too far from downtown and some other Seattle attractions. Could see the Space Needle from the room and rooftop deck. Also, walked to a great little place to eat, the Mecca just a block away.
I could save a lot of money. I dont think it is possible to find a place to stay during summer vacation at this price. The location is okay. It is between the airport and seattle downtown. It is in quite and safe area. Space for parking spot there but I didnot rent the car. I used the lyft to go to the seattle downtown
I took three tours so didnot need car.
The location was fantastic. We got to the hotel by car but once in Seattle, we walked and used public transit to visit the city. It is conveniently located near Pike Place Market, the Monorail and train making it very easy to get around without a vehicle. The underground tour, Chihuli gardens and Pike Place were among the highlights of our trip.
The beds were comfortable. The strategic location was good. The price was much cheaper than any other motel or hotel we could find in Seattle. There was a bus going into downtown Seattle from right outside door. There are pretty neighborhoods to walk through on both sides of hwy 99 that take you to Greenlake area.
My go-to hotel when visiting Seattle. Staff is beyond lovely, and location is amazing. Plenty of amazing restaurants nearby, and main attractions like the Space Needle and the Pop Culture Museum are only a short 10 min walk away. The monorail is also a 10 minute walk away and gets you downtown in 5 min.
I really liked this hotel. The staff were exceptional. I made arrangements to arrive after their regular front desk hours and they were ready for me when I got there. The shared bathrooms were very clean and always available. Overall, a great option for downtown Seattle.
- great breakfast
- reception staff helpful
- guest laundry useful
- clean
- good kitchen, but not quite enough dishes
- good location if you like walking (walk up to space needle then can catch monorail easily) or walk along the waterfront to downtown area
The bed was very comfortable and so was the couch! The staff was very friendly and the location was about 20 minutes from downtown Seattle. The price was around 120$ which was pretty amazing compared to other motels and hotels. I highly recommend this stay.
The location, downtown, with easy access to everything we wanted to see in Seattle. The Space Needle can be seen from the hotel.
The beds were very comfortable for our family and the breakfast was super, back to a normal buffet of hot and cold menus.
Clean, central, affordable. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is super central to downtown and right next to the Space Needle. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Big double beds with comfortable mattress. Coffee in the room.
Location is great! Walking distance from downtown, Lake Union and trendy Capitol Hill. Easy to access from airport by train (1-Line). Hotel has nice little excercise room and an indoor pool to dip in.
Place was clean, beautiful and located in the heart of downtown Seattle. Staff was extremely pleasant and there was a restaurant right there in the hotel.
